Walking through the historical part of Campagnano di Roma, the defense system of the entrance gates, the walls and guard towers built by the Annibaldi family, between the 12th and 14th centuries, can be recognized.

Entering through a door with a stone arch, you come to a small courtyard dominated by the tallest tower made of tuff blocks. The type of cut of the masonry recalls that of the castle of Sermoneta which was also managed by the Annibaldi family.

Continuing the walk you can see beautiful examples of medieval architecture with small houses with windows in Gothic style with mullioned or lancet windows and other examples of tower houses.
