An exciting concert was held at the San Bonifacio Palace with two exceptional musicians. ‘Jazz Creation from the end of 1900s to the present’, was the title of the concert that saw the participation of the Japanese pianist Kaori Matsui and the flutist Giampio Mastranelo.

Music by Milhaud, Roussel, Martin, Dutilleux, Mower made up an unusual program.

I have to admit that the sound of the flute reminded me a few times of the soundtracks of Akira Kurosawa’s films and I wondered how much the creation was thanks to the pianist or the to the role of the flutist.

A highly original Christmas evening.
