Odescalchi Castle

Around a thousand A.D. there was a centre of devotion to the Christian martyr St. Marina.

The Odescalchi Castle was built in the fifteenth century, incorporating the ancient cylindrical tower that protected the town.

The castle was then fortified in the seventeenth century with the construction of the ramparts and three corner towers, while the works of a great port were never completed. It overlooks the tourist port of Santa Marinella.

The castle is on show and the Odescalchi family is still the owner.
