Paradise on the sea

Paradise on the sea, or the Casino of Anzio, is a historic Art Nouveau building on the Zanardelli waterfront and in 1944, after the landing at Anzio, became the seat of the Allied forces. It was built by Giuseppe Polli, entrepreneur and mayor of Anzio, who became its owner.

Originally the beautiful art nouveau halls of Paradise on the sea were destined to become a casino and a center for fashion and for tourism but it was never opened.

Today it is owned by the City and is home to contemporary art exhibitions.

Here were made famous films such as Amarcord and Polvere di Stelle by Federico Fellini and Alberto Sordi.
