Santa Maria Abbey in Falleri

The Cistercian abbey was built in the second half of the twelfth century by monks from France. The building integrates with its surroundings and with the mighty walls of the ancient city of Falerii Novi. The church has five apses and three naves separated by pillars and marble columns with capitals recovered from Roman monuments. The portal was added later and is the work of the family of Lorenzo and Jacopo della Cosmati.
