This time, the Town Ambassador Award goes to an architect who belongs to a family that for years has something fixed in its heart: the city of Albano Laziale.

The architect is Edoardo Filippucci and he is the grandson of that Orlando Filippucci who composed a poem in verse in the local dialect dedicated to Albano Laziale as a city from which Rome was born.

Edoardo, like many of us, has gone through the difficulties of life, succeeding in them more smiling and more willing to do something positive for others. And among these others in the first place is the city of Albano Laziale.

I remember well the day when in a meeting of Strategic Albano Group, he had to tell the socio-economic situation of his city with the situation of how many boys leave in search of fortune abroad and how is the typology of small local Companies involved in tourism. After a first surprise, his attitude was immediately constructive to imagine a way to help business growth and to make Albano a real tourist destination.

An overwhelming enthusiasm with which he has created connections between all the participants and local associations active in the area. The search for synergies so that the final winner has to be always Albano Laziale and its growth.

To be honest, Albano Laziale deserves to be known and its history is one of the most incredible I’ve encountered. Practically the city was born on the camp of the II Partica Legion that was the guard of the emperor Septimius Severus. The only camp of this kind in Italy because in general the Legions were stationed on the borders of the empire.

I am sure that Edoardo will continue to want to experience all the positive things he will find in his journey to improve his city and I am sure that he will also transmit this love to the next generations. In the meantime, we all dream together because, as the famous African proverb says: “if you want to go fast, walk alone, if you want to go far walk together”.
