The medieval bridge of San Francesco is set in the medieval village of Subiaco and crosses the River Aniene. It is made of ocher-colored stone and has a structure with an arch which extends for 37 meters in length and 20 in height and is equipped with a high quadrangular control tower.

It was built in 1356 following a battle between factions of Subiaco and the Tiburtini. The bridge was constructed by Abbot Adhemar with the ransom funds paid by the Tiburtini for the release of its prisoners.
