The Gorga road is famous for its curves and its slope: a situation that makes it perfect for a bicycle hillclimb. Gorga is one of the high-altitude villages of the Lepini Mountains, famous for its nature, outdoor activities and for the astronomical observatory that strives to promote astronomy.
One of the most important sporting events is the classic San Marino-Gorga climb, dedicated to Sergio Bigioni and included in the Csain National Climbing Championship.
San Marino is the fraction of Gorga which is located at the foot of the mountain and is the starting point of the competition that continues along a path of 7 kilometers with 12 hairpin bends and ends in the heart of the village.
