Near the polygonal walls, in “Bucia Buciera”, there are found some deep underground caves used as a shelter over the millennia. The people of Canterano have used these caves during the Second World War to shelter during the bombing.

The distance to be covered from the town is wooded country and marked by dry-stone walls. In some parts it encounters an ancient burial site recognizable by sections of walls in the shape of a semicircle.

This is  the “Acqua Via” area where you come across some springs with small waterfalls.
