At the centre of the village, this church was founded as a chapel of a castle and was already collegiate in the fourteenth century. The original structure was renovated in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In 1984, the church was badly damaged by an earthquake.

A display case in the church holds the dressed statue of the White Madonna, who remains covered from August 29th to August 14th of the following year, when she is carried in a procession to the sanctuary of the Madonna di Canneto.

The church is equipped with a modern pipe organ in the central nave.

In front of the church is a large Linden (Tiglio) tree, called by the feminine name ‘Teglia’, that has recently been inserted in the list of monumental Italian trees.
