On the first Sunday after Easter this feast is celebrated during which the statue, donated by Pope Urban VIII, ‘falls’ from its niche among the faithful, and is brought up the hill San Marco. The festival features a magnificent procession and a large goods and livestock fair. It ends after seven days of “Mariano” celebration on the eighth day, with the ascent of the statue into its niche and a spectacular fireworks display.
