The celebrations in honor of Saint Anthony begin on January 17 with the solemn procession through the streets of the village of Monte Compatri where the image of the saint accompanied by the country’s folk bands is paraded. It follows the traditional blessing of the animals and the curious masked party and parade of allegorical floats in which children and adults participate. During the holiday period the traditional illuminations of Monte Compatri are lit for all the streets of the town

The festivities end with the distribution of typical products for all the participants and the evening fireworks show.
