The buffaloes have been bred in Ciociaria since before record taking, as evidenced by the old municipal statutes that had a section of buffalo tributes. At one time, the buffalo were used to help in the work of the fields and every family had several heads.

The Festival of buffalo mozzarella and agriculture was created to promote local products: mostly mozzarella and buffalo meat. The event continues to grow and offers the opportunity to appreciate Amaseno, its traditions and its culinary excellence.

You can taste the buffalo mozzarella produced from milk from local farms, buffalo meat, sweets and ice cream made from buffalo milk. Guided visits are possible to the historic centre.
