In the original town of Aquinum is the honorary arch “Marcantonio”, reported in a passage of Cicero, which is one of the oldest examples of an honorary arch in Italy whose construction dates back to 41 BC. It is made of local travertine blocks and only the central part is visible. The top part was looted over the years and the bottom is partially submerged by a river.

The arch “Marcantonio” has always aroused interest and in the Renaissance, Antonio and Giuliano da San Gallo had tried to draw a reconstruction.
