On 16th June in Casperia, about 50 km north-east of Rome on the route to Rieti, the twinning is celebrated with the Irish city of Killarney (one of the most important tourist centres in Ireland) with a special party. Night of Ireland is a sort of white night that has the scent of the land of elves and emeralds.
Sabina and Ireland have never been so close. The public and the setting of the medieval village of Casperia make the event unique in its kind. The visitors, for one evening, will be transported as if by magic into the world of fantasy, melodies and colours of Ireland.
The medieval village of Casperia already has characteristics that recall the landscape of Ireland: its fourteenth-century walls rise in the green of the Sabine countryside.
The programme includes concerts of traditional Irish music and dances, an exhibition of Irish and Sabine crafts. There will be no lacking of gastronomic stands to bring visitors and the curious to the Irish culinary traditions.
Night of Ireland is organized by the Associazione Radici Sabine.
