On the second Sunday of September the Palio della Stella is held. It was inspired by a popular local legend. It is said that, at the time of the Crusades, there was a love affair between a young knight named Desirio and a girl named Tommasina and the rider had to overcome tests of skill to win the girl.

Even today, the seven districts of the country are fighting in ancient costumes in a tournament with lance on horse, trying to pierce the three stars placed on the race track and then hitting the “Saraceno” as quickly as possible.
