Sanctuary II, also called the “Most Holy Mother” is situated in the lower part of Piglio and there Our Lady of the Roses is venerated with great devotion. The image of the Madonna is set on a rock and protected by a votive chapel.

Every year on October 30, in memory of the liberation from the plague of 1656 that decimated the population, a solemn procession carries the statue of the Madonna of the Roses from the church of Santa Maria Assunta, through the town to the shrine.

In the Sanctuary, there is a fresco of the fourteenth century depicting the Madonna and Child with a book in hand, the sacred procession vestments, crosses, lanterns and banners, many votive offerings and the wooden statue of Our Lady of the Roses with child Jesus in her arms.
