The first weekend of September for the past 15 years has been devoted to the “Septemberfest” that combines the local gastronomic tradition with the fun of the donkey race, popular music and “pupazze”. The “Pupazza” is a grotesque mannequin of paper, in which a person dances to the sound of the tarantella.

The mannequin is covered with fireworks that burn throughout the duration of the dance. The dance is a representation of the bonfire in which “Pupazza” is burnt.
