The monastery of St. Scholastica is named after the twin sister of St. Benedict and is run by a community of Benedictine nuns.

Inside are the typical elements of the monastery: a church, a cloister and library with 20,000 volumes. The library was a characteristic feature of the Benedictines who were engaged in the preservation of culture to hand it down to future generations.

With an extension in 1970 the monastery has a guest house and space for conferences.
