The daffodil is the absolute floral star of the spring months. This flower is born spontaneously in Roccapriorese valley meadows and hills which are covered in a white and fragrant blanket.
During the first Sunday in May, the town wears the dress of the festival: in the streets and the most important squares, you can admire arches and carvings of flowers in a race in which the art of decoration excels.
It is a festival that has continued since the thirties, when there arose a new class of workers: the ‘narcisari’ men and women who were dedicated to the collection of this flower. Tied in bundles and placed in large baskets they were sold in the streets of Rome and bought by tourists from home and abroad.
