According to legend, The Trail of the “Stone”, is the old path paved with stone that was used by the Patron Saint Mauro, a Benedictine monk from Montecassino when he arrived in Castelnuovo Parano. In a stretch of the path San Mauro knelt down and the stone took the shape of his knee.
