The stretch of Via Francigena passing through Cave is very impressive because it crosses one of the entrance doors to the medieval village of Cave that had been abandoned for years. The ruins of the bridge on the culvert, the medieval narrow street, the entrance arch and the side constructions give birth to a fascinating landscape loved by painters.
