In the sixteenth century, this villa was a country casino family Laghi. In 1614, it was bought by the Marquis Lorenzo Gavotti who enlarged the building and developed the estate.

In 1815, the then owner Onelli committed suicide after losing everything with the fall of Napoleon and the consequent collapse of share value. Today it is owned by the family Gioacchini.
