Almost 80% of the activity in world heritage is in Italy and this is why Italy has the best schools of restoration and protection of historical heritage.

Experts from around the world come to study in Italy or Italian professionals are called who understand how to deal with artistic heritage. On this basis an agreement was formed in 2013 involving CNR-ICVBC and WHITRAP (UNESCO) for cultural exchange between Italy and China, involving the Chinese “water towns”  and Italian “hill towns”.

The CNR-ICVBC is the Institute for Conservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage, based in Florence, which is part of the National Research Council, and is one of the world centres for restoration techniques and the experience it has in treatment of Cultural heritage.

WHITRAP is the World Heritage Institute for Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific regions is an organization under the UNESCO auspices.

CNR-ICVBC and WHITRAP have teamed up for the second phase of the international project with China and have selected Italian companies that were operating in the area of promotion of cultural heritage, i.e. in promotion especially on the web.

The CNR-ICVBC has selected the best companies in the Lazio choosing portal and Altair4 (
