The ascent of Campoforogna del Terminillo, at 1670 meters, has the detail record of having the highest number of ascents of the Giro d’Italia: 9 times.

The ascent from Rieti to the Sella di Leonessa is one of the steepest and hardest of Central Italy and for this is much loved by all the athletes, while the ascent from Leonessa is a bit easier and more suitable to the less tenacious athletes.

Every year there are several competitions and a tour of Terminillo in July, with the ascent from the side of Leonessa.

A third road is the one that passes through Micigliano and the Gorge of Velino.
