Cineto Romano is immersed in the luxuriant nature of the Aniene Valley strongly characterized by the presence of water. It is no coincidence that at least three of the ancient aqueducts that supplied water to the city of Rome started from this area: Aqua Marcia, Aqua Claudia and Anio Novus.
The most evocative and most loved point by travelers and tourists is certainly the natural monument of the waterfalls of the Rioscuro stream at about 610 meters above sea level. The large waterfall can be easily reached by following the Coleman trail in a path that is also suitable for children. They are located just 30 minutes from the town of Cineto Romano and already from the village square there are signs that lead to their discovery.
You then pass by the small church of Our Lady of Grace, perhaps founded by Saint Francis and before the large waterfall you cross several small ditches and waterfalls. On one of these you can admire a bronze sculpture of a woman washing clothes at the ditch.
