The journey of Peter the Hermit unites the municipalities of Trevi in ​​Lazio and Rocca di Botte in Abruzzo in a circular route. It starts from Rocca di Botte and cross the municipalities of the area of ​​Carsolano to enter Lazio in Riofreddo.

Crossing Oricola, Arsoli, Cervara di Roma, you will then reach Trevi nel Lazio along the Aniene Valley.

The return route then passes through Vallepietra and the mountains of Campo Secco and Campo della Pietra.

The villages of Cervara di Roma in the lower part of the municipality are crossed by the Way of Saint  Benedict which connects with the sanctuary of Subiaco.

Although it is not a stop, this path is taken by thousands of people each year to get to know the natural beauty of Cervara and who return to visit the town at a later time.

The number of visitors who know him from afar is increasing, they are attracted by his profile and his history and they come back.

Cervara di Roma is crossed by the new path dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Bari.

A journey that also aims to be a union between the Catholic and the Orthodox Church, between East and West.

In fact, St. Nicholas is one of the few saints recognized by both churches and loved to the point that for many centuries the day dedicated to him was that in which gifts were given to children.

He was the inspiration for the birth of Santa Claus and the arrival (all too commercial) of Santa Claus of today.

The journey starts from Rome - Ostia and following two different routes to arrive in Abruzzo or Molise. From here, following the paths of stock migration, one arrives at Bari where St Nicholas is buried.

Another branch of the journey starts from Russia and goes through the former Yugoslavia to Greece. Greece and Italy are then joined by the sea in memory of when his bones were taken from Myra (today a city of Turkey) and brought to Bari.

The Munistrigliu water source is one of the two sources along the sheep track traveled by transhumance shepherds (stock migration) who used it as one of their stops.

Because of the proximity to the town there was an ancient wash-house used by local women and it was their meeting point.

The water is collected in a rectangular basin covered by a stone vault that is shaped to match the differences in height of the mountain.

The other source is the nearby Fonte Martino.

Via Clodia is an ancient Roman road that crosses most of the Tuscia.

Every year are organized by excursionists associations to bring to light its importance and beauty, being now immersed in the unspoiled nature of the Viterbo countryside.

One of the most beautiful itineraries in the Lazio region, assiduously during the winter months, perhaps as an antidote to Christmas binges.

It crosses the protected area of ​​the Marturanum park which includes the municipalities of Blera and Barbarano Romano.

Blera is located in an area of ​​particular natural value and ancient history that has its roots well before the birth of Rome.

For this reason you can take walks following both historical and natural itineraries.

The most appreciated route is perhaps the one called 'the path of the Etruscans' that connects Blera with Barbarano Romano following the ancient route of the Via Clodia and passing along the course of the Biedano river.

Other routes are those that come to the ancient city, the Necropolis of Pian del Vescovo and the Necropolis of Grotta Penta where you can admire the cubic sepulchres built on several levels and connected by steps.

Most of the trails are passable even on horseback and by mountain bike.

St Benedict way

Percile is one of the stages of the St Benedict way - Camino di San Benedetto, which arrives from Orvino in Sabina to go to Mandela on the way to the abbey of Montecassino. The path can be covered on foot or by mountain bike and crosses one of the uncontaminated landscapes of Lazio full of woods and water springs.

In Percile there are also the paths of the Via dei Lupi and the Coleman path, which connects Subiaco to Tivoli.
