Jenne. Re-enactment of the transhumance between Jenne and Anzio

Every year in August, a group of horse enthusiasts retraces the ancient transhumance path that connects Jenne with Anzio. It is the path that shepherds once followed to reach the pastures along the coast during the cold winter months starting from the Simbruini Mountains.

The Simbruini mountains are a paradise for horse lovers and in Jenne you can meet breeders of CAITPR, Italian Agricultural Horses for Tiro Pesante Rapido, the breed that once helped man in the work of the fields and in the transport of goods.

Today this route is part of a European project on paths and its official recognition is underway.
