The island of Pantelleria was selected as one of the 12 Italian municipalities of the ‘Smarter Italy’ project, by the Ministry for Technological Innovation and Digitization, to create innovative services in the sectors of mobility, the environment, citizens’ well-being and cultural development.
Pantelleria is also home to the ‘Pantelleria Youth Forum’, a project for young people to plan the sustainable development of the island and the Mediterranean.
Thanks to the strong digital development, Pantelleria has also decided to start a program to become Chinese Friendly and to be able to welcome Chinese tourists by putting them at ease.
