Casalvieri. Melfa Gorges

Casalvieri. Melfa Gorges

The Melfa Gorges are the 'green jewel' of the Ciociaria: wild landscape between woods and cliffs, caves and the Hermitage of the Holy Spirit, between Casalvieri and Roccasecca.

The gorges are one of the oldest ways of Latium joining the Liri Valley with the Comino Valley.

A walking path to find medicinal herbs, mushrooms and wild asparagus, and to have fun on a mountain bike.

Waterfalls and rapids of Melfa river are the joy for lovers of water sports.

The European Community has included the gorges in the list of the most important natural sites for the presence of birds of prey, deer and wolves.
