Cellino San Marco. The Spumone

Cellino San Marco. The Spumone

Spumone is the ice cream with which every event in Salento ends, even if it is of Neapolitan origin, and is included among the traditional products by the Ministry of Agriculture.

It was so famous that it was mentioned in a song by Domenico Modugno.

The ice cream is left to cool in small round containers and is then turned upside down on a saucer. The ice cream is made from layers of different flavors with chopped almond and chocolate pieces while the heart is made of drowned sponge cake.
