Pescorocchiano. Val de Varri Caves

The Val de'Varri Caves in Pescorocchiano are a complex of caves that develop at the base of Mount Sant'Angelo and are also known as "sinkhole of Val de' Varri".

Along the operating left branch you come to a room with archaeological remains of the Middle Bronze Age.

Numerous ceramic fragments were recovered, faunal elements, elements in flint and metal, a clay Fuseruola (ceramic bead), a Macinello (grinding mortar), machined stones.

These relics are preserved in the archaeological museum "Pigorini" of Rome.

The walls also have many forms of rock art as evidence of human presence.
