The garden of Rocca dei Papi is located at the highest point of Montefiascone with stunning views of Bolsena Lake and its islands. But also the view that dominates the imposing dome is not to be missed.
It had been ordered by Cardinal Pompeo Aldrovandi who was the Bishop of Montefiascone in the 18th century and who had loved this city.
The garden was then replanted several times and in 1898, it was given a new identity with the arrival of the aqueduct and the arrangement of a large cistern for water distribution in the town. The story of the aqueduct coming from Cimino is told in a plaque next to the tank.
