The Valeriani-Guarini Palace is located in the main square of Priverno right in front of the Cathedral.
It dates from the thirteenth century and was built by the Valeriani brothers: one of whom was named a cardinal by Pope Boniface VIII (the pope of the slap of Anagni) and one was the mayor of Priverno in 1301.
In 1500 the building was enlarged and changed according to a plan by the Guarini family and it assumed its present appearance.
Only the mullioned windows on the first floor reveal its medieval origins.
In 1924 the building was purchased by Antonelli that modified the interior in the style of the Art Nouveau era.
To do this they called great artists like the sculptor Angelo Domenico Chives (1879-1952), who built the architecture and pictorial decoration of the façade, and the decorators Giulio Sordoni and Peter Camps.
The palace now houses the Archaeological Museum.
