Palestrina. Birthplace and Foundation of Pierluigi of Palestrina

Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina was one of the most important composers of the Renaissance.

In the fifteenth house of his birthplace, three levels have been turned into a museum.

It houses an important musicological library with hundreds of editions from the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, in addition to about seven thousand volumes on musical culture.

The Foundation Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina was born in January 1973, it operates the museum and organizes events.

The main room (Sala Cingolani) hosts seminars, conferences and small concerts.
