Cottanello. Le Prata and Fonte Cerro

Le Prata and Fonte Cerro are plateaus in Cottanello that start from 800 meters and rise up to 1200, including the border between Lazio and Umbria, where you can also walk.

The village of "Prata below", at an altitude of 900 meters, is used as a shelter for livestock.

While "Prata above", at 1100 meters, is an area equipped with picnic tables and fire places.

The landscape is characterized by a series of clearings surrounded by monumental forests of oak, maple, and beech.

The first Sunday of May in Le Prata sheep movement (transumanza) is celebrated in conjunction with the actual transfer of cattle to the mountains for summer.
