Contigliano. Path of St. Francis

Contigliano. Path of St. Francis

Contigliano is crossed by the path of St. Francis that traces its life in the Sacred Valley of Rieti.

It is incorporated into the longest way of St Francis that starts from the Sanctuary of La Verna on the Apennines and arrives in Rome.

The St. Francis path in the Sacred Valley of Rieti connects the 4 sanctuaries founded by the Saint with eight stops and an 80-kilometer route signaled with special wooden and aluminum signs.

The sanctuaries are those of Greccio, La Foresta, Poggio Bustone and Fonte Colombo.

In addition, the route crosses the historic center of Rieti, the abbey of San Pastore and the Beech woods of Rivodutri and the natural reserves of lakes Lungo and lake Ripasottile.
