The Merlot vines are grown in the Casalvieri and Gallinaro countrysides, thanks to which this surprising wine with the unmistakable name, Maresciallo, is produced.
Merlot is now a native vine of the splendid Val Comino where for centuries it has found a unique terroir in which to express the power and sinuosity that characterise it.
The vines of Tenuta Cervelli are distributed among the splendid municipalities of Gallinaro and Casalvieri.
Tenuta Cervelli cultivates its vines with passion and its philosophy is to integrate the knowledge of traditions with the attention to quality, offered by modern technologies in the cellar.
Maresciallo is produced from 100% Merlot grapes harvested by hand and immediately brought to the cellar. It makes a first stop in steel for 12 months before being bottled and at least another 6 months in the cellar.
On the nose this wine demonstrates its complexity with floral scents that alternate with spicy and herbaceous aromas. At the end the fruity hints of black cherry and pomegranate are tasted.
It is a fresh and mineral wine with elegant tannins with a good balance between the various components.
With these sensations and an alcohol content of 13.5%, Maresciallo is a perfect wine for combinations with first and second courses that could be based on game, black truffle or porcini mushrooms.
You can find the wines of Tenuta Cervelli on the web or by visiting them in Broccostella to be enchanted by the wonderful Comino Valley.
