Folk music and dance at the Ernica Etnica Festival di Veroli

Ernica Etnica Festival is a national festival of Italian popular music, which takes place in the beautiful scenery of the historic centre of Veroli.
Veroli one of the most ancient and important centers of Ciociaria that was built on an acropolis surrounded by Cyclopean walls.
In addition to the famous Santa Salome Basilica with the Scala Santa, Veroli has the incredible Cistercian Abbey of Casamari.
Ernica Etnica takes its name from the Ernici mountains and was created to promote the traditions of Italian folk music, making it coexist with the culture of the places. It is a very popular and much sought-after music event that people come to listen and dance in the square at an intense and growing pace.

In the 3 evening concerts each year they alternate between folk music of southern Italy and groups from the province. Since 2017 a prize has been set up dedicated to the Masters of the folk tradition.

The rich participation of quality music groups is combined with the leisures of discovering artisanal workshops. In fact, during the 3 days of Ernica Etnica, a craft market is open to luthiers or dealers of ethnic musical instruments and a market for leather and leather artisans.
