Terra di Passo Tarantella of San Donato Val di Comino is a festival of Italian folk music formed to brighten the summers of the Comino Valley and to appreciate not only the historical and natural beauties but also the cheerful and light-hearted spirit of the people. San Donato Val di Comino is the perfect spot from which the whole valley is overseen, like a perfect terrace on which to have a party.
It is an opportunity to meet for those who love traditions, love for their roots, where they tell the stories and the meaning of everything in your life.
Terra di Passo Tarantella Festival originates from the "Cantori in Terra di Lavoro" musical group made up by Fernando Cedrone, who has been involved in the search for the musical repertoire and the dances of the Val di Comino. Dance movements have a particular meaning in the local culture which, if known, makes them appreciated even more.

The festival in San Donato Val di Comino, also creates a strong feeling of union with many of its emigrants who return in the summer and want to dance to the traditional music, not to lose their ties with the culture of the place. Dancing in the square in San Donato is an experience that everyone wants to try at least once.
This is why much attention has been given to the creation of traditional musical instruments such as the artisanal reproduction of the "chitarra battente” (metal string guitar) or "chitarra italiana", an instrument that has been used for centuries in southern Lazio.
During the 2 days of the festival you can participate in tambourine workshops and folk dances and visit an exhibition of metal string guitar and percussion.
In the past years important and emerging artists of Italian folk music have played here, such as: Carlo D'Angiò (Musicanova) and Eugenio Bennato, Antonio Infantino, Francesco Loccisano (important name of the "chitarra battente"), Piero Ricci, Gianni Perilli, Fulvio Cocuzzo, the Musicians of the Piccolo Borgo, the dancer Maristella Martella, Cantori in Terra di Lavoro, Giuliano Gabriele Ensemble, Amasud.
On the days of the festival it is possible to take a guided excursion to the Royal Bourbon Mines of San Donato, in the lush green area of a place with a millennial history to be discovered step by step.
Obviously the whole event is accompanied by the local traditional cuisine with Val di Comino's excellent products such as the famous Pecorino cheese from Picinisco DOC, the Cannellino di Atina bean DOC and the Atina wine DOC, an excellent wine made with Cabernet grapes with a beautiful story behind it.
