Sacrofano. Archaeological site Mount Musino

The Mount Musino archaeological site is located in Sacrofano on top of the hill where there are the remains of the medieval fortifications and traces of an earlier place of worship.

Probably it is the sanctuary of the Arae Mutiae mentioned by Pliny, dedicated to the worship of Zeus the Thunder God and Hercules and dates back to 148 AD.
