Cerreto Laziale. Medieval Tower

The remains of the medieval fortress are represented by the fourteenth-century tower and located in the centre of the old town of Cerreto Laziale.

The fortress was built by Abbot Tommaso da Celano.

It had the classic form of medieval castles: four towers connected by high walls, with an entrance with guards and the ‘Big Tower’ at the centre of the courtyard.

The entrance door is decorated with bronze plaques representing the episode of the Cerreto Laziale cat.

It is open to the public only during special holidays.
