The building of the municipality of Campagnano di Roma is located in the main square with the dolphin fountain.
It was built on the ruins of the Rocca Orsini that had governed the village for centuries.
The palace was built in the late 1800's and has a very particular neo-Gothic style.
In fact the building seems very square but then presents the typical curved and soft windows of Gothic style.
The building has three floors, the ground floor has a porch with round arches, the first floor has windows in the shape of large 'single-lancet windows' while the second floor has windows in the shape of mullioned windows. The cover is flat.
At the corner of the square and the main street, the porch is architecturally transformed to form a square-plan loggia with a cross vaulted roof.
The exterior is covered in white and peperino marble while the capitals of the columns and the arches are carved and very worked with geometric decorations.
This sort of ‘little chapel’ houses a bronze statue dedicated to the lawyer Cesare Leonelli, a leader of the resistance who was shot at the Fosse Ardeatine.
