Tourism in Terminillo began in the 1930s with Mussolini thanks to its beauty and its proximity to Rome.
The massif, once called Tetricus by the Romans, reaches 2217 meters high and is part of the chain of the Apennines.
The northern part, that of Leonessa, has preserved the original wilderness of the mountains with rocky cliffs, breezes and unspoilt valleys such as Vallonina and Valle Scura.
The massif passes through the Sella of Leonessa at 1890 meters which is often closed in winter but is a joy for alpine ski lovers.
