The former Colonna railway station is situated along the line disused in 1983 that connected Rome to Fiuggi, an important city famous for water and spas. This museum was set up by the Foundation for Railway within the premises dedicated to travellers and the warehouse.

Outside, in the square and along a stretch alongside the tracks, you can see the locomotives of "historical value" such as the locomotive "4" of 1916, the electromotive "434" of 1921, 1949 and the articulated trainset "801" of 1953. There are also several open and closed wagons.

In addition to the trains of the Rome-Fiuggi line, some of railway stock of the Roma-Viterbo and Rome-Lido lines of '20s-'30s were brought here.

The Museum of the Legio II Parthica is dedicated to the Legio II Patrhica created by the emperor Septimius Severus (Settimio Severo) in 196 A.D. to fight the Parthians, the ancient Persians.

In 202 the headquarters of the Legio II was established in Albano Laziale.

This choice represented an exception to the general rule that the legions were stationed at the borders of the empire, but this legion had special military skills and comprised Emperor Guard Personnel.

The museum is located in the area where Caracalla, son and successor of Septimius Severus, built spas for the legionaries.

The museum begins with a series of faithful reconstructions of equipment and uniforms, the result of practical archaeology.
